A few weeks ago my family went out to eat at a nice restaurant. When we got there, there were several people milling around in the entry area, so we knew there might be a wait. So, we went to the hostess stand and we were told the wait would be about 15 to twenty minutes. We gave them our name and went to find a place to sit.

Begging For Money
Today is the third Sunday in our series called “How to Be Rich.” It’s a stewardship series. We’re not trying to tell you how to get rich, but how to act if you ever find yourself in a situation where you are a person of means.

Of course, nobody ever really feels rich. Jay pointed out the first week that we have this category of “rich” that we always reserve for someone else. No matter where we are on the income scale, “rich” is always a step or two farther up the line.

My lovely bride and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on New Year’s Day. (Thank you…that applause is more for her, she deserves it for putting up with me for that long.)

So, I thought such a momentous occasion deserved something special, so I told her I wanted to take a trip. Specifically, what I told her is that I thought we should go someplace cheap, and someplace warm. (Romantic, don’t you think? You can see why she’s stayed with me all these years.)
